14th Annual Mass Eye and Ear Vitrectomy Course

July 12-13, 2024
Boston, MA

The Mass. Eye and Ear Vitrectomy Course for first-year retina fellows is a unique, comprehensive workshop that covers the theory and practice of vitreoretinal surgery. This two-day course includes lectures on surgical pearls, hands-on wet lab exposure to the basics of retina surgery, case panels and case discussions, simulator practice, practice with clinic-based procedures and small group career panel discussions. All components of the course are taught from eminent national and international leaders in vitreoretinal surgery with a low student-to-teacher ratio. With space for up to 60 surgical vitreoretinal fellows and 45 retina faculty, the course offers first-year retina fellows from across the U.S. an intensive and comprehensive introduction to vitreoretinal surgery, which is intended to ensure the best preparation for their fellowship.

We encourage fellowship directors to reach out to the incoming first-year class early on to plan attendance for this course!
